Fourteen pupils and three teachers have recently returned from a fantastic weekend trip to Glencoe. Our hosts were Debbie, Jeff, Katrina and Vicky.
On the Friday evening we played some games which helped us get to know the staff at the Centre. We were split into two groups on Saturday morning and with the weather being ideal for skiing, we spent the day learning the basics with Debbie and Jeff as our instructors. Katrina helped out in Debbie's group and we met Vicky on the slopes.
After our day skiing we headed out to Ballachuilish for mass at St Mun's where we met Father Roddy and were treated to a history of the Massacre of Glencoe and of his Church, which included a mention of St Mary's in Greenock!
After mass, we had a meal and then headed to Fort William for an evening of Ten Pin Bowling and a visit to McDonalds. Everyone slept well on Saturday night, though Mr Dalziel almost fell out of his bed when he dreamt he was falling while skiing!!
Sunday dawned with windy and wet weather. Seven pupils and Mr Dalziel decided on a second day of skiing while the other seven with Miss Denheen and Miss Scott chose to do a bit of Archery and Orienteering. On the slopes, the wind and snow made things interesting for the skiers, while down in the glen the other team got drenched in the continuous rain - marvellous! A special mention should go to Emma Whitelaw for surviving a skiing collision with Mr Dalziel who charged straight into her at great speed - she was just standing quietly waiting in the queue for the ski tow at the time!!
Over the next few days we'll add more photos for you to have a look at.

Debbie, our Ski Instructor from the Centre, times a slalom run....

Laura Tolan's photo of the group - unfortunately the lens was steamed up. We'll get a better photo soon from Jennifer Loy.... we hope!
